By housing industry and academic partners such as Packworks and Ateneo BUILD, the AI Innovation Centre is translating access to infrastructure into tangible economic and societal impact. Through our collaboration with Packworks, the Centre has enabled the deployment of large-scale AI-driven precision marketing tools by providing access to production-grade infrastructure within the lab. This environment allowed Packworks to train, test, and run machine learning models to analyze purchasing patterns and consumer demand, translating AI insights into actionable recommendations. This allowed Packworks’ AI-driven tools to help micro-retailers optimize inventory and pricing decisions in their day-to-day operations. This is already delivering measurable results. In 2025, Packworks analyzed more than 300 stores in its network and recorded a 46% increase in daily gross merchandise value (GMV), alongside a 17% rise in total sales, which demonstrates how AI, when deployed in optimized infrastructure, can translate directly to measurable business impact. Alongside commercial impact, the Centre is also shaping academic research and applied learning with Ateneo BUILD. By providing researchers and students access to enterprise-grade AI infrastructure, the Centre is bridging the gap between theory and application, equipping Filipino talent with the capabilities to to work with AI in real-world environments. “Even at this early stage of adoption, we’ve recorded increased sales and improved operational efficiency from stores using our AI tools,” shared Andoy Montiel, Chief Data Officer, Packworks. “As micro-retailers learn to act on AI-driven insights, they’re able to make smarter decisions that translate into higher sales and more efficient operations.” Recognition for advancing AI infrastructureThe work behind the AI Innovation Centre has also received international recognition. STT GDC Philippines was recently recognized at the Stevie Awards and the W.Media Southeast Asia Awards for its contributions to AI-ready infrastructure and innovation. The AI Innovation Centre itself received recognition for Pioneering the AI Revolution, while the lab’s liquid-cooling infrastructure – designed to support high-density AI workloads – won the Innovation in Data Center Cooling award at the W.Media Southeast Asia Awards. These liquid cooling configurations can deliver up to 40% energy savings compared to conventional air-cooling systems, helping organizations run high-performance AI workloads more efficiently and sustainably. Applying AI inside the organization Image Beyond infrastructure, STT GDC Philippines is leveraging AI to strengthen workforce development, collaboration, and operational excellence AI innovation at STT GDC Philippines is not limited to infrastructure. The company also received recognition for AI Innovation in HR at the Stevie Awards, highlighting how AI is being applied internally to strengthen workforce design, skills development and leadership capability. AI-assisted tools are used across job architecture, skills assessments, and leadership development and organisational analytics to create more consistent and transparent people systems. The initiative has contributed to a 23% improvement in leadership proficiency, alongside greater transparency and consistency in people-related decisions.
