ESG Our Progress A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT AND GROUP CEO Growth with Purpose: Powering a Sustainable Digital Future Bruno Lopez President & Group CEO A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT AND GROUP CEO Growth with Purpose: Powering a Sustainable Digital Future MORE In today’s hyperconnected world, data centres are the backbone of the digital economy, empowering businesses, communities and individuals to thrive. At STT GDC, our commitment goes beyond supporting digital growth — we are dedicated to advancing the industry by placing sustainable and innovative solutions at the heart of our operations. In 2024, we made significant progress towards our 2030 carbon neutrality goal. We expanded our use of renewable energy to 78.5%, surpassing our targets, boosted energy efficiency and deployed advanced technologies. We became the first data centre operator in Singapore to transition our backup generators to hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and we partnered with Phaidra to pilot AI-powered cooling optimisation — the first such initiative in Asia, setting a new industry benchmark piloting this in a hybrid cooling environment. Our dedication to sustainability also shapes our financing strategy. We launched a landmark S$500 million Sustainability-Linked Perpetual securities issuance — making it the first Singapore dollar-denominated SLP, the first public benchmark SLP in Asia and the first perpetual security issued by a pure-play data centre operator globally. Building on this momentum, we set even more ambitious environmental targets within our enhanced Sustainability-Linked Financing Framework in August 2024. Beyond environmental progress, we are committed to our people and our communities. In 2024, we achieved a safety incident rate of 0.1 and invested an average of 23.5 training hours per employee, by fostering a culture of safety and continuous learning. As we continue to grow, we do so with a strong sense of purpose and a steadfast commitment to sustainability. I invite you to join us as we power a sustainable digital future together. For Thailand, the defining factor of whether we emerge as a leader—or remain a follower—in this new era is not low-cost labour, but the strength of our digital infrastructure foundations. We stand at a pivotal moment. The AI economy is expected to transform every sector—from financial services and smart cities to education, healthcare, and manufacturing. According to Statista Market Insights, Thailand’s AI market is forecast to reach US$1.16 billion in 2025, with an annual growth rate of 26.24% through 2031. Yet beyond these figures lies a deeper truth: the shift from computing as basic support infrastructure to computing as a strategic competitive advantage. The rapid adoption of cloud technologies, the exponential growth of artificial intelligence (AI) and the emergence of sovereign digital infrastructure are reshaping societies and economies. At the core of this transformation are data centres – strategic assets enabling innovation, economic growth and resilience. At the same time, sustainability has become a non-negotiable imperative. Governments, investors, and communities are calling for a digital future that does not come at the expense of environmental stewardship. Our industry faces the challenge of ensuring that growth in digital capacity supports, rather than undermines, sustainability goals.
