Financing supports the development of STT GDC's flagship Malaysia campus and reinforces its long-term commitment to responsible, sustainable digital infrastructure growth in Johor JOHOR, Malaysia, 13 August 2026 – ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), one of the world's fastest-growing data centre providers, today announced that it has secured a green financing facility of up to USD 1.37 billion (MYR 5.6 billion) to support the development of STT Johor, its flagship Malaysia data centre campus at Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park in Johor. The financing package includes a Green Loan Facility for Phase 1 of the campus, aligning long-term capital deployment with the development of sustainable, resilient and energy-efficient digital infrastructure. The green financing package was secured with the support of a consortium of leading financial institutions comprising United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd as Sole Coordinator and Mandated Lead Arranger, alongside OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad and CIMB Bank Berhad as Mandated Lead Arrangers. "This financing is an important milestone in STT GDC's continued investment in Malaysia and reflects strong confidence from our banking partners in STT Johor and the long-term fundamentals of the digital infrastructure sector," said Nelson Lim, Group Chief Financial Officer, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres. “As demand for cloud, AI and other digital workloads grows, disciplined, long-term capital will be critical to building infrastructure that is resilient, sustainable and able to support our customers’ requirements. The Green Loan Facility reinforces our approach to integrating sustainability into the way we finance, design, build and operate our data centres." The Green Loan Facility forms part of STT GDC's broader approach to embedding sustainability across the full lifecycle of its business. In its latest ESG Report, STT GDC reported that renewable energy accounted for 83.2% of its electricity consumption in 2025, while carbon intensity was reduced by 70.5% against its 2021 baseline, surpassing its 2028 target three years early. The company also achieved an average PUE of 1.44, representing a 13% improvement from its 2020 baseline, and a 41.2% improvement in WUE over the same period. Located in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, STT Johor is STT GDC’s flagship Malaysia data centre campus, with a planned development capacity of up to 166MW of IT load. The campus is strategically positioned to support customers seeking scalable and resilient digital infrastructure for cloud, AI, high-performance computing and next-generation digital workloads. As demand for digital infrastructure continues to accelerate across Southeast Asia, Johor’s connectivity, access to power infrastructure, growing talent base and proximity to Singapore have strengthened its position as a strategic destination for hyperscale and large-scale digital infrastructure investment. The campus is also well placed to support the ambitions of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), which seeks to deepen cross-border economic cooperation and strengthen Johor’s role as a high-value investment destination. With financing now secured, STT GDC is positioned to progress the next phases of campus development in close coordination with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, utilities and ecosystem partners. "STT Johor is a flagship investment that reflects our long-term commitment to Malaysia and our confidence in Johor’s role as a strategic digital infrastructure hub,” said Darryll Sinnappa, Country Head, Malaysia, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres. “The campus is being developed to support the next generation of digital infrastructure requirements, including cloud, AI and high-performance computing workloads, while contributing to Malaysia’s digital economy ambitions. Beyond infrastructure investment, STT GDC is also committed to building local capabilities, deepening ecosystem partnerships and operating responsibly, supporting Johor's growth as a strategic digital infrastructure hub and advancing Malaysia's broader digital economy ambitions." STT GDC’s investment in Johor extends beyond infrastructure development. In April 2026, the company launched talent and community development initiatives in Johor, including a local talent development programme delivered in collaboration with the Johor Talent Development Council, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and EPI Group. The initiative builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between STT GDC and JTDC in 2025, which aims to create a robust pipeline of skilled professionals to support the growth of Johor’s data centre sector and the wider region, in line with the objectives of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone. These outcomes reflect STT GDC’s focus on scaling responsibly as it expands its global platform. Across markets, the company continues to align growth with responsible resource management, operational resilience and energy efficiency, recognising that sustainable digital infrastructure requires not only capital investment, but also close partnership with governments, utilities, customers and local communities. # # #
