MYS, Johor | Manager, Data Centre Site Operations

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Manages and leads the 'in-country' DC team to operate/maintain 100% availability for the DC facility with compliance to all SLAs, Legal, Budget, Client, Regulatory and Audit requirements, and ensuring great customer experience at all times while also taking guidance and complying to STT GDC Group DCO policies and standards.

 

  • Leads and ensures smooth 24x7 running of the operations in the 'in-country' data centre.
  • Acts as Level 3 escalation point by overseeing and resolving all onsite operational incidents and major issues, including any change management activities.
  • Designs, reviews and implements best in class DC operations based on ITIL and industry practices
  • Guides teams to improve services and processes within the DC, while ensuring adherence to customers' SLAs
  • Responsible for reviewing and improving of the preventive maintenance program on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads in incident, problem and change management to minimise impact to customer services.
  • Review the safe work responsibilities and ensure strict adherence to the safety requirements, procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Leads all facility management/data centre related certifications and implements related compliance for both internal and external customers.
  • Develops and reviews all policies, SOPs and Emergency Operating Procedures, implements service improvement programs.
  • Generate and provide periodic reports for management review and meetings.
  • Reviews and approves purchase orders for replacement parts, equipment, etc and supports vendor reviews.
  • Any other duties or project as assigned by the Management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computing/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Certified practitioner of ITIL, CCNA, CCNP, CDCP or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in managing the operations of a 24x7 critical data centre facility.
  • Good knowledge in M&E and building facilities related systems, such as CRAUs, Chiller, PDUs, DRUPS, UPS, Switch Gears Ops, DX cooling, Network structure cabling, Security, etc.
  • Prepared to lead and support major data centre activities during non-office hours.
  • Good knowledge about local codes and regulations related to DC operations and facility management.
  • Possess relevant facilities management and/or data centre related certifications, such as ITIL, CDCP, CDCS, etc.
  • Familiar with certifications standards, such as LEED Gold, ISO 20000 / 22301 / 27001, Uptime Institute Tier III, etc.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team of specialists/engineers to achieve the organization strategic goals.
  • Good vendor management and collaboration skills to works with cross functional teams.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficient in MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
